| You all know the lead-up story…
Two Ohio natives, 15 years apart, spent much of their lives in a gym, met at FLYTZ, soon met Maddox, and then headed west.
And you all know what was missing…
A ring (actually 3 rings, but that’s another story), an engagement, seeing gorgeous Sarah in a wedding dress, and celebrating with ones we love.
So I wanted to share our proposal…
After many months of the ring traveling in my pocket(s), it was truly ready to come out on a beautiful Sunday brunch at Wilson Creek Winery. I chose not to put the ring inside an oyster, nor have the chef bring it out sticking up from a pastry…Sarah hates both. So, with the help from Anna, we grabbed the nearest engraver and an able-bodied server (Garrett) and put a plan into action (see photo). And in this spur-of-the-moment event, along with Sarah’s discomfort in large crowds, I made the proposal short, “I love you, Ding, will you marry me?” But there was so much more that I wanted to share with the world that day.
Now I want you to be our world…
“Sarah, you have already given me everything a man can ask for...a life I love, a relentless partner, the beautiful princess I have always dreamed about…and you have brought Anna and your family into my life. You have given me Maddox, inspiration, joy, Grey and certainly an amazing future I have never envisioned before you. I only ask 2 more things: continue to love me as much as I love you…and to marry me.”
And By the Way...
She said yes. |
